Student Stories

tahir Muhammad Tahir Aziz

My name is Tahir Aziz and I have successfully completed my International Foundation Year (IFY), and International Diploma (Int. Dip.) in Engineering from NCUK Lahore. It was two years of self exploration where I really enjoyed the participative class discussions and interacting with so many bright minds. My time at NCUK Lahore taught me how important it is to continuously stretch the periphery of knowledge, be inquisitive and to never stop learning.

I have no doubt that the training I received through NCUK Lahore and the immense hard work and guidance of its faculty were instrumental in my ability to secure my current position at the University of Liverpool (A Russel Group University). I am grateful for my good fortune of being associated with NCUK Lahore centre and its faculty, who have not only paved a way for me to a promising future but also urged me to put my best foot forward. My two years stay was indeed an enriching experience that I am going to cherish for the rest of my life.

Haroon Haroon Iqbal

I am Haroon Iqbal. I did my International Diploma in Engineering from NCUK Lahore center which was the first step for me to make my base strong for a world class degree. When I first joined NCUK, I had my mind set on getting into the University of Liverpool because it was fulfilling my desires in every angle and NCUK helped turn my dream into a reality.

The best thing about NCUK is that the course is very well designed and the teachers are highly qualified in their respective fields and have experience of British education system. My time at NCUK made me an independent learner and taught me the basics of approximately every module which helped me to cope with my studies at the University here.
I would highly recommend NCUK to prospective students because it’s the only route which opens your door to top notch universities in the UK. Moreover, you can also choose to progress directly into the 2nd year of undergraduate degree at one of the NCUK owner universities.

Tamoor Haider Tamoor Haider

My name is Tamoor Haider. I studied at the NCUK Lahore Centre and was transferred to the second year of a four years Bachelars in Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree with one year Industrial Experience at the University of Manchester in September, 2011.

Taking the NCUK programme was one of my best decisions. The experience has definitely prepared me for the study lifestyle that I have here in the UK. In fact, the variety of additional subjects on the NCUK Int Dip like Mechatronics and C++ were a real help as these subjects were first taught in the second year in the UK. The range of universities to choose from and extensive support from NCUK are also outstanding. I had a lot of support making my applications and writing my ‘Personal Statement.’

I chose the Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree course at the University of Manchester because they have one of the most sophisticated power labs in the UK. They also have close links to many power industries like Siemens, Rolls Royce, National Instruments and British Petroleum which means there are increased opportunities for graduates to progress straight into hands-on, realtime job experience.

With my experience of UK education, I am confident that my future is progressing on the right path.

I am planning to work for a major company like Rolls Royce or Jaguar Land Rover after my degree for four to five years and then take further studies in the UK or Germany.

At the moment, I am Social Secretary and Industrial Liaison of EEESoc, second year representative of Student Staff Liaising Committee, an active member of Electronics Club and PakSoc as well as a big fan of the Islamic Society. I’ll also be looking to do some part-time work in the next year.
